Massimo Bottura invites you to his new muse - Casa Maria Luigia

by Anjelika Kour

Named after Massimo's late mother, the estate is a sight for sore eyes. Filled with a museum-worthy art collection. Lara and Massimo keep the place looking and feeling top for every guest to feel "at home" while on their various travel itineraries.

Massimo shares in his long trips around the world as he endlessly stayed in hotels and "didn't know where he really was" and wanted his guests to feel quite the contrary of feelings. Successfully achieving such a feeling - our stay was met with beautiful planning, San Pellegrino sodas, and lovely time by the divine red & white tiled pool as if in a French/Italian 60s film.

Broken lemon tarts, miso pesto, and, of course, tortellini for dessert are some of the renowned classic dishes to expect during the experiential and highly warm dinner presentation. All while dining in a family-style dining room in a building just across the main house with Damien Hurst's pill collection posters lining the walls.

Also, with Lara's great advice - we visited a nearby Antica Moca establishment for a traditional Modenese fair in a beautiful atmospheric setting.

Enjoy the breakfast gnocco fritto (a Modena tradition) and don't forget to check out the garage! 😍
